No. The test method applied to fire-resistant doors is 1634-1, while the smoke tightness test method is 1634-3. Obtaining one does not mean obtaining the other. Separate documents and certificates must be issued for both. Please remember that according to Article 25 of our Fire Regulations, all doors in fire walls must be "smoke-proof".
The Regulations on Fire Protection of Buildings explicitly mandate this in high-rise buildings.Furthermore, since corridors in facilities such as hotels, schools, and hospitals must be designed with fire insulation, it is legally mandatory for shaft covers in these facilities to be fire-resistant. In these facilities, all shaft covers must be fire-resistant, regardless of height. If you are unsure whether your building is a high-rise building, the regulations define it as follows:High-rise building: A building whose height exceeds 21.5 meters and whose structural height (including basements and roof) exceeds 30.5 meters.
The first thing we need to check is whether the certificate we have is genuine and original. You can verify its authenticity with either Efectis Era or TSE laboratories, two institutions in our country that provide this service. The second point is that you should check whether the product you are being sold is the same product that has the certificate. Some manufacturers change the accessory set they use during the certification process and then sell it. It has even been observed that some manufacturers sell doors that are much thinner than the ones they produced for certification.Choosing a CE-marked product will give you some peace of mind. Otherwise, be sure to pay attention to the accessory and door dimensions details mentioned in the certificate.
No. According to the 1634-1 test standard, accessories such as panic bars, locks, hinges, door closers (hydraulic), guillotine closers, and seals specified in the certificate cannot be used from brands and models other than those used in the test. The only exception is if the testing institution provides an EXAP report (Extended Application Report) confirming that the accessories are interchangeable. In this case, additional accessories can be added to the product certificate.
According to regulations on fire protection of buildings, it is mandatory to apply fire-stopping products around electrical, mechanical, and other structural elements passing through fire walls and all floors. In addition, all walls of sections specifically designated as fire zones (compartments) during the project phase must also be insulated against fire.
"High-rise building: Buildings with a height exceeding 21.50 m or a structural height exceeding 30.50 m"Regulation on Fire Protection of Buildings, Article 4, paragraph ccc. This indicates that buildings with seven floors, including the ground floor, and a certain amount of roof height are classified as high-rise buildings. But remember; fire regulations apply to all buildings, not just high-rise buildings. This distinction has been made to highlight the additional precautions that need to be taken in high-rise buildings. For example, in high-rise buildings, shaft covers must have a fire resistance of 90 minutes, and shaft walls must be constructed with a fire resistance of 120 minutes. (Article 25, Paragraph 3)
According to the regulations on fire protection of buildings, the main fire walls are fire escape route walls, walls between two units (apartments) in residential buildings, all electrical and mechanical shaft walls and floor entry points, walls of technical areas (generator room, electrical panel rooms, fire pump room, etc.), and the floor and walls separating the parking area from the residential section in residential buildings. According to the Regulations on Fire Protection of Buildings, the maximum design temperature should not exceed 540 degrees Celsius. However, when designing the static project of a steel structure, a lower system temperature, such as 450 degrees Celsius, may have been selected. Certain safety measures required by fire regulations are vital, especially for accommodation facilities. Each room door must be fire-resistant, and all mechanical and electrical components entering the room must be protected by fire insulation. In the event of a fire, escape route safety is another crucial consideration. A person exiting a room must proceed through fire-safe zones until they reach the final safe area. To ensure this, smoke curtains are necessary in facilities with atriums.
"Due to fire damages caused by non-compliance with the regulations;a) Building owners, employers and employer representatives involved in building construction,b) Architects and engineers involved in design, implementation, and supervision,c) Building inspection organizations,c) Contractors, manufacturers and consultants,They are responsible according to their faults."Regulations on fire protection of buildings, Article 6, Paragraph 3.
